Didn’t de-notify Gen Qamar Bajwa despite ‘betrayal’: PTI founder

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Saturday asserted that he did not de-notify former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa despite his actions ‘felt like a betrayal’. “Although General Bajwa’s actions felt like a betrayal, we refrained from convening a committee to confront him,” the deposed prime minister said while speaking to journalists in an informal conversation during the hearing of the Toshakhana reference in Adiala jail. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman claimed that the "former army chief Gen (rtd) Qamar Javed Bajwa toppled the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) government." The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to the FIA, retired Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and Faiz Hameed over a petition of violating legal bindings. The high court bench also issued notices to journalists, Javed Chaudhry, Shahid Maitla, PEMRA and the Press Association of Pakistan over a petition seeking registration of case in the FIA against Qamar Bajwa, Faiz Hameed and others.
