"SC cannot go back on its verdict": CJP Bandial

Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial remarked that the Supreme Court had now given a verdict on the Punjab polls and cannot go back on it and the time was to “move on”. “ the briefing of the military authorities was very impressive and shed light...... briefing was given after the Supreme Court had announced its verdict. SC sends notice to ECP over delay in Punjab polls

The Supreme Court Issued notices to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for dragging feet on polls in Punjab. It also sought guarantees from the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to bury the hatchet for free, fair, and transparent elections. PTI to move top court against ECP decision on Punjab polls

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry has said his party would challenge the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to postpone the date for general elections in Punjab. The day was changed from April 30 to October 8 by the election organizing authority. President Alvi asks ECP to immediately announce date for KP, Punjab polls

Islamabad: President Arif Alvi asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to immediately announce the date of elections for provincial assemblies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. He said that the decision would “put an end to dangerous speculative propaganda”. The president wrote a letter to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja for this purpose. Read More…
