Ishaq Dar castigates President Alvi for attempting to ‘breach’ constitution

PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar on Tuesday castigated President Dr Arif Alvi for attempting to ‘breach’ constitution after the latter refused to summon National Assembly (NA) session on account of an ‘incomplete house’. Speaking to journalists in Islamabad, the former finance minister stressed that failure by the President to sign the necessary documents for the assembly sitting indicated a ‘deliberate attempt to disrupt proceedings’, suggesting a disregard for constitutional principles. President Dr. Arif Alvi asked India to repeal draconian laws in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and reverse its unilateral and illegal actions of 5 August 2019. President Alvi overrules State Life Insurance Corporation

President Dr. Arif Alvi rejected appeals of the State Life Insurance Corporation and ordered it to pay insurance to citizens. The complainants obtained insurance policies worth Rs2.9 million, Rs198, 290, and Rs192,000, respectively, after the death of the policyholders. The Corporation had accused the complainants of deliberately concealing illnesses from heirs and refused to pay the amount. President Alvi refuses to sign Supreme Court bill

Islamabad: President Dr. Arif Alvi returned the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Bill, 2023 without signing for the second time. In a notification, the president said the "competency of legislation and validity of the bill is subjudice before the highest judicial forum of the country. President Alvi confers civil awards upon Pakistanis, foreign nationals

President Dr Arif Alvi on Thursday conferred Pakistan’s civil awards on 135 citizens as well as foreign nationals on Pakistan Day, in recognition of their excellence and gallantry in their respective fields.
