Poland to build Europe’s ‘strongest army’ in 2026: PM Tusk

Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk has declared 2026 a "year of Polish acceleration," pledging to build "the strongest army in Europe," boost infrastructure investment, and take a tougher stance on crime, local media reported. Railway line blast in Poland an ‘unprecedented act of sabotage’

An explosion on a Polish railway line that serves as a key route for aid deliveries, including weapons transfers, to Ukraine was an “unprecedented act of sabotage”, the country’s PM Donald Tusk has said, pledging to catch those responsible. Pakistan, Poland review entire spectrum of bilateral ties

The 9th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) between Pakistan and the Republic of Poland held in Warsaw reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations. The Pakistani delegation was led by Ambassador Muhammad Ayub, Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe), while the Polish delegation was headed by Secretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski. The Ambassador of Pakistan to Poland, Muhammad Sami-ur-Rehman and the Polish Ambassador to Pakistan Maciej Pisarski, were also present during the consultations, Foreign Office Spokesperson, on Saturday, said in a press release. Lithuania links Russia to Ikea store arson attack

Russia’s military intelligence orchestrated an arson attack on an Ikea store in Vilnius last May, and a suspect is in custody in Poland along with others tied to similar incidents, a Lithuanian prosecutor has alleged. Lithuania’s investigation traced the arson to Russia through a complex network of intermediaries, said Arturas Urbelis, a prosecutor at the Lithuanian General Prosecutor’s Office. Poland says citizen killed in strike on aid convoy

Poland confirmed that one of its citizens was killed in a strike on a World Central Kitchen aid convoy in Deir Al Balah, Gaza, on Monday night. Seven people died in the strike after the team left an aid warehouse, despite the journey having been co-ordinated with the Israeli army, World Central Kitchen said on Tuesday. F-16s will be shot down, warns Putin

Russia has no designs on any NATO country and will not attack Poland, the Baltic states or the Czech Republic but if the West supplies F-16 fighters to Ukraine then they will be shot down by Russian forces, President Vladimir Putin said late on Wednesday. Poland raids Russian spy network

Polish security services said Thursday they had raided a Russian spy network in cooperation with Czech intelligence, which a day earlier had busted a major Russian propaganda network. The services said their operations were linked to charges filed earlier this year against a Polish citizen suspected of spying for Russia. “The Internal Security Agency is conducting activities as part of an investigation into espionage activities for Russia directed against European Union countries and institutions,” agency spokesman Jacek Dobrzynski said on social media.
