Security forces kill 17 khawarij in follow-up operation at Pak-Afghan border

Pakistan security forces killed 17 khawarij during a follow-up operation at Pak-Afghan border, a day after killing 54 terrorists, media reported on Monday, quoting Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). According to public relations wing of the military, 17 khawarij were killed near Pak-Afghan border during a follow-up operation. Weapons, bullets and other explosives were recovered from the custody of killed outlaws. A day earlier, Pakistan armed forces also killed 54 khawarij after foiling an infiltration bid. Read More…

Rabbani calls for joint parliament session on Chaman border attack

On Sunday, PPP Senator Raza Rabbani called for a joint parliament session to hold a briefing on last week's terrorist attack at the Pak-Afghan border crossing in Chaman. "Armed men from Afghanistan opened fire on the Pakistan security forces personnel at the Friendship Gate," Rabbani said. 'Pak-Afghan border fencing will continue as planned': DG ISPR

Rawalpindi: On Wednesday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar announced that fencing of the Pak-Afghan border would continue as planned, as the blood of martyred soldiers was involved in erecting the fence. Border fencing was being done in an effort to protect the people on both sides as well as to regulate trade, he told. 'Pak-Afghan border issue will be resolved diplomatically': FM Qureshi

On Jan 3, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi conceded that there were "some complications" about the fencing of the Pak-Afghan border but added that the matter was being discussed with the Afghan Taliban government. Qureshi blamed "certain miscreants" for fouling up such matters out of proportion.
