Judicial committee formed on enforced disappearances

The National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee (NJPMC) on Friday took serious notice of the enforced disappearances and unanimously resolved that the judiciary would not compromise on its constitutional duty to safeguard fundamental rights. The 53rd meeting of NJPMC was convened at the Supreme Court of Pakistan under the Chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr Justice Yahya Afridi. Govt restores previous status of PMDC

The government has restored the previous status of the Pakistan Medical Council (PMC) after receiving assent from the President of Pakistan on the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Act, 2022 sent by the Parliament. According to the spokesperson of the council, after official signing of gazette notification, the PMDC bill has become now fully functional. Read More…

MDCAT students protest against PMC, cite injustice

Police in Islamabad baton-charged two young doctors outside the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) headquarters on Tuesday, as they protested the government's decision to take the National Licensing Examination (NLE) mandatory for registration.
