Israelis settlers fire live ammunition in area of Beita, attack barn belonging to farmer

Israeli settlers have launched attacks on an area called Abu al-Hamra in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Wafa News Agency reports. Local sources told Wafa and our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic that a group of settlers attacked an industrial facility and a barn belonging to a farmer named Samer Abu Mazen, firing live ammunition in the area. Israeli army kills four in a day in the occupied West Bank

As global focus on the war on Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz grows, Israeli settlers’ violence across the occupied West Bank shows no sign of decreasing. In the past 24 hours, the Palestinian Health Ministry said that four Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire and attacks in Qalqilya, Nablus and Tulkarem. British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband has announced a trade ban ‌on goods made in illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. During a speech in the UK Parliament, he also said that Britain is sanctioning the Hezbollah-run ⁠financial institution al-Qard al-Hassan. The Jerusalem Governorate has condemned the killing of a Palestinian man by Israeli forces in occupied East Jerusalem on Friday. Authorities said Israeli forces shot 33-year-old Ibrahim al-Hindi twice near the Damascus Gate area, killing him instantly. Raids Across West Bank Lead to New Arrests

Israeli forces arrested Palestinians, including a journalist, during early Thursday raids across the occupied West Bank, according to the Prisoners Media Office. Arrests were reported in Bethlehem, Nablus, Salfit and Hebron provinces. In Bethlehem, several people were detained during home raids, while a father and his two sons were arrested in Beit Fajjar. Nablus also saw multiple arrests in villages and refugee camps. In Sebastia, the mother and sister of a prisoner were briefly detained. Read More…

Most Swedish parties back tougher action on Israel: Survey

A survey of Sweden’s parliamentary parties found broad support for stronger measures against Israeli government actions in the occupied Palestinian Territories than current policy reflects, according to six civil society organisations behind the poll. Seven of the eight parties in the Riksdag, Sweden’s parliament, responded to the survey – a joint initiative including Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International Sweden and Act Church of Sweden.
