Overnight Russian attacks caused large fires in Chernihiv region: Officials

Overnight Russian attacks on the northern region of Chernihiv caused large fires to break out in infrastructure facilities, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine says. In a post on Facebook, the service said that the fires broke out following Russian attacks on in Chernihiv city and Koriukivka. Ukraine says Russian drone strike kills two energy workers in Chernihiv

Two employees of a regional energy company were killed and three others wounded when a Russian drone struck their vehicle in Ukraine’s northern Chernihiv region, local authorities said late on Friday. Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv regional administration, said on Telegram that the attack took place in the Semenivska community on Friday. “A Russian drone hit a regional energy company vehicle. Pakistan reports third polio case of 2025

Pakistan has reported the third polio case of 2025 as confirmed by the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio Eradication. The new polio case was reported from Sindh’s District Larkana and was verified by the lab. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan district reported the year’s first case, the Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio Eradication. There were 74 polio cases recorded in 2024, the previous year. Gaza situation 'like Japan 80 years ago': Nobel peace winner Nihon Hidankyo

This year's Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the Japanese atomic bomb survivors' group, Nihon Hidankyo. The grassroots movement of survivors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki received the peace prize for its "efforts to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons and for demonstrating through witness testimony that nuclear weapons must never be used again". Pakistan reports 14th polio case of 2024

Another polio case emerged in Pakistan as a 20-month-old boy has been confirmed to be infected with the virus, media reported citing the National Institute of Health (NIH) sources. The sources said that the affected child belonged to the Kila Saifullah district of Balochistan. Polio virus detected in environmental samples of Karachi, Quetta

Polio virus has been detected in environmental samples of Karachi and Quetta, media citing National Institute of Health (NIH) sources. According to the details, the same cross-border virus was found in two polio-positive cases earlier this year in Chaman and Dera Bugti.
