Search Continues for Missing Irish Mountaineer

MANSEHRA: Heavy fog and rain hampered the search for an Irish mountaineer missing while descending Musa Da Musalla peak in Siran Valley. Rescue teams using drones and sniffer dogs struggled with poor visibility, rough terrain and low oxygen levels. Police said several teams, supported by mountaineering groups, local residents and forest officials, were searching difficult routes leading to the peak. The mountaineer disappeared on August 30 after attempting the summit with a British national. Read More…

Nawaz Sharif to ‘contest’ from Mansehra in general elections

EU to set up training institute, ski resort in Kaghan: Official

Mansehra: The Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) head said that a European Union delegation agreed to uplift body for financial assistance to execute five major projects to promote tourism in the scenic valley. “We have floated five projects before a joint delegation of European Union and Austrian embassy in Islamabad and sought their financial assistance or grants for their execution,” Aimal Zaman Khan, the KDA chairman, told a presser here. Work on Dasu hydropower, Islamabad sub station commenced

The Senate Standing Committee on Power Division on Wednesday informed that work on all three lots including Dasu Hydropower Project, Mansehra Sub Station and Islamabad Sub Station has already been started. The committee which met with Senator Saifullah Abro in the Chair was told that the total length of the transmission line was 254.6 kilometres which included 686 towers, the state news agency reported. Earthquake jolts Peshawar, parts of KP

Peshawar: Peshawar, Kohat, Swabi, Lower Dir, Bannu, Dir, and Swat on Thursday suffered a severe earthquake. Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Battagram, also experienced earthquake tremors. 4.2 magnitude earthquake hits part of KPK

In the early hours of Friday, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake rocked areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Reports claimed that tremors were detected in Mansehra, Torghar, Battagram, and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The earthquake had a value of 4.2 on the Richter Scale, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department's National Seismic Monitoring Centre.
