Pakistan seeks fresh LNG cargo after tender setbacks

Pakistan Liquefied Natural Gas Limited has invited international companies to bid for an LNG cargo scheduled for delivery from September 12 to 16, following two cancelled tenders. Bids must be submitted and will be opened on September 8. The move comes after Pakistan recently secured a record-priced spot LNG cargo at $21.88 per MMBtu. Power Shortfall Triggers Nighttime Loadshedding

The government on Saturday apologised to consumers over nighttime electricity loadshedding, blaming the disruption on delayed RLNG cargoes. The Power Division said temporary load management was carried out during peak hours after a significant generation shortfall caused by unavailable RLNG, while output from Mangla Dam also declined. The federal government has issued an emergency tender to procure a liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo for delivery on July 15-16 after a Qatari shipment bound for Pakistan was aborted mid-journey due to fresh hostilities in the Strait of Hormuz, Bloomberg reported. Qatari LNG tanker Al Rekayyat at risk of explosion after missile attack near Hormuz 

The Qatari LNG tanker Al Rekayyat is at risk of exploding due to a fire in its engine room, a source briefed on the incident told Reuters on Tuesday. The Al Rekayyat and a Saudi-flagged crude oil tanker were damaged near the Strait of Hormuz after Iran's Revolutionary Guards fired missiles at ships in the waterway overnight, sources said. Qatar says Iran 'fully responsible' for tanker attack near Hormuz 

Qatar has said it holds Iran fully responsible for the attack on LNG tanker Al Rekayyat near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday. In a statement, Qatar's foreign ministry said that the attack on the LNG tanker constituted "aggression" against the security and safety of international navigation. DOHA: Fifty-four people were injured and 18 are missing after an explosion at Qatar's massive Ras Laffan liquefied natural (LNG) gas complex which occurred as workers were restarting operations halted after an Iranian attack in March. Second Qatari LNG tanker to cross Strait of Hormuz

A second Qatari LNG tanker is transiting the ⁠Strait of Hormuz days after the first such cargo crossed under an arrangement involving Iran and Pakistan, according to LSEG shipping data seen by the Reuters. Azerbaijan says ready to supply LNG as Pakistan faces shortages amid Mideast conflict

Azerbaijan’s state energy company Socar is ready to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Pakistan as soon as it receives a request from Islamabad, the company told Reuters on Tuesday, as Islamabad seeks spot cargoes to ease a growing energy shortfall. Pakistan buys second LNG cargo from Azerbaijan

Pakistan on Wednesday announced the successful procurement of a second LNG cargo from the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). According to the statement, Energy Ministry and Pakistan LNG Ltd (PLL) secured LNG cargo agreement from SOCAR. The cargo is scheduled for delivery next month.
