Earthquake shocks Islamabad, adjoining areas

A moderate-level earthquake was reported from Islamabad including Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and its adjoining areas on Thursday. Residents of Kohat, Lower Dir, Chitral, and Girdo districts experienced tremors from an earthquake. Similar seismic activity was reported in Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Swat, and Girdo districts as well. The magnitude of the quake was recorded at 5.3 on the Richter Scale, meanwhile, the epicenter of the earthquake was the Afghan-Tajikistan border areas, and its depth was 86 kilometers. Read More…

Shehryar Afridi secures NA-35 Kohat seat with healthy margin

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed independent candidate Shehryar Afridi secured the seat of Kohat’s National Assembly constituency (NA-35) in the general election 2024. According to unofficial results received from all 491 polling stations of NA-35 Kohat, the PTI-backed independent candidate Shehryar Afridi won the seat of NA-35 by securing 128,491 votes having a lead of 71,307 votes over the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Abbas Khan Afridi, who came in second position with 57,184 votes. It was reported that unidentified gunmen opened fire at a vehicle on University Road Kohat. One transgender was killed while two were injured in the incident. 17 killed, one wounded in Kohat collision incident

At least 17 persons were killed and one got wounds after a collision between a trawler truck and a passenger bus in the Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Thursday. According to reports, the trawler collided with the passenger bus coming from the opposite side of the road. Daughter shot over domestic dispute in Kohat

On Thursday, a man shot dead his maternal uncle and aunt, as well as their little daughter, over a domestic dispute in the Ustarzai Payan area, under the jurisdiction of the Ustarzai Police Station.
