Benzema to sue French minister for linking him to Muslim Brotherhood

Former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema planned to sue France's Interior Minister after he accused the football star of having links to the Muslim Brotherhood. Benzema's lawyer Hugues Vigier said that he would take legal action against Gerald Darmanin on the grounds of “false information and public insults”. Karim Benzema aims to leave lasting legacy in Saudi Arabia

Karim Benzema stated that he wanted to leave a “lasting legacy” and deliver trophies at the new club Al Ittihad. The striker said that his Muslim faith was a significant factor in his decision to move to Saudi Arabia. Karim Benzema bid farewell to Real Madrid on Tuesday. He admitted that leaving the Spanish club after 14 years “hurts” as the striker prepares to sign for Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad. The 35-year-old forward joined Real in 2009 from Ligue 1 side Lyon before going on to score 354 goals 648 appearances for Los Blancos. Saudi champions Al Ittihad set to sign Karim Benzema

Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad was expected to sign Karim Benzema on a two-year deal from Real Madrid, Saudi state broadcaster Al Ekhbariya reported on Sunday. Benzema was set to move to the kingdom after Real Madrid announced that the French international would leave the La Liga club after 14 years as a free agent.
