Indonesia evacuates villagers as volcano erupts on Java island

Jakarta: On December 4, a volcano erupted in Indonesia and spewed a cloud of ash 15 km into the sky. The calamity forced the evacuation of nearly 2,000 people. The authorities stated that they issued their highest warning for the area in the east of Java island. Reactivated Semeru volcano kills 22

Sumberwuluh: It emerged on Monday that almost 22 people had lost their lives and myriad are injured due to the eruption of Semeru volcano on Java island. The volcano activated again and spewed layers of ash. Multitudes were left missing during the calamity. "Semeru is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia. Semeru volcano on Java island kills 14

Sumberwuluh: It emerged on Sunday that almost 14 people had lost their lives and myriad are injured due to the eruption of Semeru volcano on Java island. According to Indonesia's disaster agency, rescue teams have been searching for victims under the layers of ash, sometimes burrowing with their bare hands. The authorities reported that the eruption had destroyed buildings and broke a strategic bridge engaging two areas in the nearby district of Lumajang with the city of Malang, authorities said.
