Justice Aalia Neelum nominated as LHC chief justice

The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has unanimously nominated Justice Aalia Neelum as the first-ever woman chief justice of Lahore High Court (LHC). The commission, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, unanimously approved Justice Neelum’s name for the coveted position. JCP approves elevation of Musarrat Hilali to SC

The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) approved the elevation of Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Musarrat Hilali to the Supreme Court (SC), according to Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar. JCP rejects CJP Bandial's nominees for Supreme Court elevation

Islamabad: On Thursday, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) rejected Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial's nominated judges for their appointment to the Supreme Court. CJP Bandial presided over the judicial commission's session, where a total of five judges were considered. The chief justice, Justice Aijazul Ahsan, and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah voted in favour of the nominees, while Justice (retd) Sarmad Jalal Usmani voted in favour of three judges from LHC and voted against the SHC nominees, sources said. Don't 'ridicule' judicial commission by 'contravening Constitution': Justice Isa to CJP

On July 26, senior most Judge of the Supreme Court Justice Qazi Faez Isa wrote a letter to the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP). JCP approves Justice Ayesha Malik's promotion to Supreme Court

On Thursday, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) had approved the elevation of Lahore High Court Justice Ayesha A. Malik to the Supreme Court. She will be the country's first-ever female judge to sit on the Supreme court. A JCP meeting chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed was held during which Justice Malik's elevation was approved by a majority of five votes against four.
