Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi granted bail in Toshakhana fake receipt case

An Islamabad court has granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana fake receipt case. Imran Khan was also granted bail in five other cases, including those related to attempted murder and defaming the army. According to the FIR, Imran and Bushra have been accused of committing fraud by presenting a fake receipt that falsely indicated the sale of gifts, such as watches and cufflinks, allegedly obtained from Toshakhana using forged signatures. Islamabad court removes 'terrorist states' reference from Imaan, Chattha verdict

An Islamabad court has ordered removing a controversial paragraph mentioning “terrorist states” from the verdict that convicted lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali Chattha in controversial tweets case last week. In an order, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka said the controversial para was added “due to a clerical mistake which is not supported by any statutory provision, judicial precedent, executive notification, international instrument or authoritative reference, so the same may be deleted because this sentence is vague and ambiguous”. Islamabad court issues non-bailable arrest warrant for CM Afridi in cybercrime case

An Islamabad district and sessions court on Wednesday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Sohail Afridi over his repeated failure to appear in a case involving alleged misleading statements against state institutions. Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah issued the warrant after Afridi did not attend the hearing despite being summoned by the court. Bushra Bibi’s three interim bail pleas rejected

Islamabad court on Monday rejected three interim bail pleas filed by PTI founder’s wife Bushra Bibi. As per details, the Islamabad Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Mujoka rejected three interim bail applications filed by former first lady Bushra Bibi. During the hearing, Prosecutor Iqbal Kakhar and Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry appeared in court. Bushra Bibi’s lawyer submitted a plea for exemption during the proceedings. Read More…

Court rejects Khan's plea seeking suspension of arrest warrant

An Islamabad court rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's plea seeking the suspension of non-bailable arrest warrants issued in the Toshakhana case. Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal announced the verdict reserved earlier redirecting the authorities concerned to arrest the former prime minister and present him before the court on March 18. Sheikh Rasheed seeks exemption in Zardari remarks case

Islamabad court rejects Sheikh Rashid's post-arrest bail plea

Islamabad: A court in Islamabad on Tuesday dismissed Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed's post-arrest bail plea. A case was registered against him for leveling murder plot allegations against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari. Islamabad court reserves verdict on Toshakhana reference

An Islamabad district and sessions court on Monday reserved its verdict in the Toshakhana reference filed against PTI Chairman Imran Khan by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
