GB Hunting Permits Fetch High Bids

GILGIT: Gilgit-Baltistan’s Wildlife and Parks Department auctioned hunting permits for 117 animals for the 2026-27 trophy hunting season, with an Astore markhor permit fetching a record $356,000. Other markhor permits also attracted high bids. Officials expect to generate Rs650 million from the season, covering three markhors, 14 blue sheep and 100 Himalayan ibexes through April 2027. Hunter Biden says it's not anti-Semitic to call Netanyahu 'evil incarnate'

Hunter Biden, the son of former US President Joe Biden, has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is "evil incarnate" and that it's not anti-Semitic to criticise the government of Israel. Centre, KP at odds over 'ban' on Markhor, Ibex hunting

A new rift has emerged between the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments in light of the Centre's decision to ban the hunting of non-exportable markhor, ibex and grey goral. In a letter addressed to the KP's wildlife secretary, the wildlife chief conservator has said that the federal government has banned the hunting of said animals, citing the lack of permission. Bangladesh arrests over 1300 pro-Hasina rioters under Operation Devil Hunt  

Bangladeshi police have said more than 1,300 people have been arrested in a sweeping crackdown dubbed "Operation Devil Hunt", targeting gangs allegedly connected to the ousted regime of Sheikh Hasina. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, head of the interior ministry in the interim government that took over after Hasina was ousted in the August 2024 student-led revolution, has vowed the operations will continue "until we uproot the devils". Hunter Biden pleads guilty in federal tax case

Hunter Biden, son of US President Joe Biden, pleaded guilty to federal tax charges, a surprise move that avoids a potentially embarrassing trial weeks before the US presidential election. Hunt for missing Titanic sub continues

The US Coast Guard Wednesday diverted its robotic undersea search operations to the area where sounds, likely from the missing OceanGate Expeditions submersible, originated from. Search teams, as reported by the Coast Guard, detected underwater sounds as they scanned the North Atlantic to search for the tourist's vessel.
