Ishaq Dar blasts PTI founder for moving to IMF for ‘personal gains’

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senator and former finance minister Ishaq Dar has criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for writing to IMF for ‘personal gains’. Speaking to the media at the Punjab Assembly in Lahore, Ishaq Dar condemned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) decision to write a letter to the IMF as “sad”. “If a letter was written to the IMF, it would have no standing.” He remarked that by writing the letter, the PTI was proving to be anti-national. Accountability court exonerates Ishaq Dar

An accountability court on Monday declared PML-N leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar innocent in the assets beyond means case. Earlier, the court reserved a ruling on the reference against Dar. The NAB prosecutor argued in the court that no proof of corruption was found against Dar and therefore, the case must be disposed of. The court sought a written reply from the NAB prosecutor. Court summons Ishaq Dar as NAB revives corruption cases

An accountability court in the federal capita summoned former finance minister Ishaq Dar on October 10 as an asset-beyond-means-case was reopened by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against him. Accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir issued notice to Senator Ishaq Dar and adjourned the hearing till October 10. The assets-beyond-means case was closed after approval of NAB amendments by the parliament. Records of the case were already in the court. Read More…

Dar unveils economic survey for fiscal year 2023

Islamabad: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday launched the Pakistan Economic Survey of 2022-23. Addressing the ceremony, the minister said the government economy based on five Es including exports, equity, empowerment, environment, and energy. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday asserted that the country was not on the verge of a financial crisis and “will absolutely not default”. Dar’s remarks came amid growing fears of default, propelled by the country’s declining remittances and foreign exchange reserves. Ishaq Dar to visit US, attend spring meetings of IMF, World Bank

Pakistan’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will visit the United States from April 10 to 16 to attend the upcoming annual spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, sources said. Secretary Finance Hamid Yaqoob and Governor State Bank of Pakistan Jameel Ahmed will also accompany the finance minister along with a high-powered delegation, sources at the Ministry of Finance said.
