SC issues show-cause notices to Faisal Vawda, Mustafa Kamal

The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday issued contempt of court notices to independent Senator Faisal Vawda and MQM-Pakistan MNA Mustafa Kamal over anti-judiciary rhetoric. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and including Justice Irfan Saadat Khan and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan heard the case. Court takes suo moto notice of Faisal Vawda’s press conference

The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Thursday took suo moto notice of a press conference held by Senator Faisal Vawda who demanded evidence of interference in the judiciary. Senate elections: Vawda wins; PPP secures 10 seats from Sindh

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) bagged 10 out of 12 seats in the Senate elections from Sindh with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and independent candidate Faisal Vawda winning a seat each. As per the results announced by the returning officers, the PPP secured five general, two technocrats, one minority, and two women seats. Faisal Vawda submits resignation to Senate chairman

Karachi: Former PTI leader Faisal Vawda on Wednesday submitted his resignation as a senator to Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani in line with the Supreme Court’s order. 'Faisal Vawda renounced US citizenship': CJP Bandial

On Thursday, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked that PTI leader and former federal minister Faisal Vawda renounced his US nationality after submitting the nomination papers for the 2018 election. He made these remarks while hearing a petition filed by Faisal Vawda against his lifetime disqualification by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) over filing false nomination papers. Vawda moves to Supreme Court against IHC, ECP

IHC reserves verdict on admissibility of Vawda's plea

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday reserved its decision on the admissibility of a petition filed by ruling PTI politician Faisal Vawda challenging the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) lifelong disqualification in a case involving his dual nationality. ECP demands Vawda to return salary, privileges

On Feb 9, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) disqualified PTI Senator Faisal Vawda as a lawmaker over obscuring his dual nationality at the time of contesting the National Assembly election in the 2018 general elections. The ECP also notified Vawda to return within two months the salary and other privileges he had received as a minister and parliamentarian.
