PHC Grants Bail to Man in Social Media Case

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday granted bail to Zeeshan Khan, arrested for allegedly celebrating Indian Independence Day and sharing its flag on Facebook. Justice Kamran Hayat Miankhel ordered his release against two surety bonds. The petitioner’s lawyers denied the allegations, saying the account was not operated by their client and the content was unavailable online. UN Urges Safer Social Media for Young Users

GENEVA/BRUSSELS: The United Nations on Thursday urged social media companies to adopt child-safe designs after Meta agreed to tighter restrictions on teenage use of Facebook and Instagram in some US states. The agreement followed claims that Meta designed its platforms to attract young users, downplayed risks and unlawfully collected children’s data. Hadi’s repatriated body has arrived in Bangladesh from Singapore and left the airport, Inqilab Moncho has said. Meta says ChatGPT-related malware is on the rise

Facebook owner Meta said on Wednesday it had uncovered malware purveyors leveraging public interest in ChatGPT to lure users into downloading malicious apps and browser extensions, likening the phenomenon to cryptocurrency scams. Since March, the social media giant has found around 10 malware families and more than 1,000 malicious links that were promoted as tools featuring the popular artificial intelligence-powered chatbot, it said in a report.
