DNA Testing Advances in Hina Javed Murder Case

LAHORE: DNA tests of key suspects in the Hina Javed murder case have been completed at the Punjab Forensic Science Agency. Samples from her husband, father-in-law and domestic worker Zeeshan were collected in the presence of her brother, Fahad Javed. During the investigation, Zeeshan allegedly confessed and claimed Hina’s husband offered Rs100,000 for the killing. Both husband Faisal Asghar and his father denied the allegations. Deadly attack during prayers shakes central Nigeria

JOS, Nigeria: Jihadists kidnapped and killed scores of people during Friday prayers in Nigeria’s Niger state, survivors and lawmakers told AFP. The attack occurred in Dikera village near the Benin border, where armed groups and Sahel militants have increased activity. Survivor Jibril Ahmad said fighters from Lakurawa attacked worshippers with guns, knives and machetes, accusing them of not following Islam. Nearby Binzi village was also targeted. Hamas says four Israeli spies killed in northern Gaza

Hamas said on Monday that four people spying for Israel were killed in northern Gaza. “Four spies who were operating for the enemy Israel and attempted to kidnap a Hamas member were eliminated in Gaza,” the group’s military wing, Qassam Brigades, said in a statement on the official Telegram channel. MS DHQ Hospital, CEO Health arrested after deaths of 20 children in Pakpattan

Medical Superintendent (MS) of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Pakpattan, Dr. Adnan Ghaffar, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health, Dr. Sohail Asghar were arrested, on Friday, on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif following the deaths of 20 children, mostly newborns, in Pakpattan. The arrests were ordered during an unannounced visit by CM Maryam Nawaz to the DHQ Hospital, where she personally heard complaints from patients and their attendants regarding unavailability of medicines and poor treatment facilities. Gunmen kidnapped at least 46 people, including women and children, in a raid on Gana town in Nigeria's northwest Zamfara state, residents and a local traditional leader have said. Syria Civil Defence ends search for secret cells at Sednaya Prison

Syria Civil Defence concluded its search for any remaining detainees who may have been held in secret cells and basement areas in Sendaya Prison, saying it did not uncover any unopened or hidden areas in the centre. “Specialised teams from The White Helmets conducted a thorough search of all sections, facilities, basements, courtyards and surrounding areas of the prison,” the organisation said in a statement. As pictures and videos of thousands of people being freed from various prisons operated by the former regime of Bashar al Assad flood social media streams, rights groups and experts are calling for accountability. Since anti-regime groups captured Damascus on November 8, forcing Assad to flee Syria and his military to collapse, thousands of people have emerged from cramped cells and dark dungeons of the Sednaya Prison in Damascus.
