On Thursday, a Hyderabad anti-corruption court remanded former Matiari deputy commissioner Adnan Rasheed to judicial custody till December 7. The decision is related to an investigation into a scam concerning land acquisition for the M6 (Hyderabad-Sukkur) motorway. Rasheed was arrested by Hyderabad’s Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on November 17. Former Saeedabad assistant commissioner Mansoor Abbasi was also involved in the scandal as well as the Saeedabad branch of Sindh Bank. Read More…

Matiari: On Thursday, Anti-Corruption officials of Hyderabad have arrested deputy commissioner Matiari over corruption in funds for Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway project. A team of Hyderabad anti-corruption department officials arrested Matiari DC Adnan Rashid over graft charges and conducted search operation in DC House of the district. According to a government notification, DC Matiari has been terminated from service over corruption charges. He had allegedly misappropriated 1.75 billion rupees from the motorway funds. Read More…
