Italian football coaches seek suspension of Israel World Cup ties

The Italian Football Coaches’ Association (AIAC) is pushing for Israel to be suspended from international competition over the war on Gaza. Ahead of Italy’s crucial World Cup qualifiers against Israel in the next two months, the AIAC says “Israel must stop. Football must also take action.” The AIAC has written a formal letter to the Italian football federation, to be forwarded to European and world football’s governing bodies, calling for Israel to be suspended. Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal appointed bowling coaches of Pakistan team

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday appointed former pacer Umar Gul and spin wizard Saeed Ajmal as bowling coaches of the Pakistan cricket team. According to the PCB, Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal’s inaugural assignments in these roles include the Test series against Australia scheduled from 14 December 2023 to 7 January 2024 and the T20I series against New Zealand from 12 to 21 January 2024. Passenger train derails in India's Odisha

An express passenger train derailed in India’s eastern Odisha state on Friday evening, officials said. At least eight coaches of the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express derailed near Bahanaga railway station in the state’s Balasore district after it reportedly collided with a goods train. The train had started the journey from the Eastern West Bengal state at 3.30 pm and was scheduled to reach southern Chennai city on Saturday. Read More…

Female wrestlers accuse officials of sexual misconduct

Top Indian athlete accused the chief of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and other coaches of sexually harassing women wrestlers for years. Vinesh Phogat has alleged that at least 10 women wrestlers confessed to her that they were sexually exploited by WFI president Brij Bhushan Singh. Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdul Razzaq will serve as interim coaches in the home series against New Zealand.
