Dar links economic growth to regional connectivity, terms CPEC 'catalyst' for development

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday underscored the importance of regional connectivity for stability, economic growth and collective progress. Addressing the Regional Transport Ministers' International Conference in Islamabad on Thursday, he said Pakistan stands ready to coordinate transport plans, enhance crossborder facilitation, mobilise joint investments and strengthen regional value chains, reported Radio Pakistan. The DPM said that CPEC is now widely recognised as a catalyst for energy infrastructure development, transport connectivity and enhanced trade across the whole of South Asia and Central Asia. Pakistan, China agree to advance CPEC 2.0 with five new corridors

Pakistan and China on Thursday reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation under the upgraded China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC 2.0), which includes five new corridors. The understanding came during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress of their relations and pledged to work closely on the next phase of CPEC. PM Sharif is currently in China on a six-day official visit. PM Sharif, Chinese premier vow to protect CPEC

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his Chinese counterpart Premier LI Qiang on Friday expressed their firm commitment to protect China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project from its ‘detractors and adversaries’. PM Sharif is on a five-day official visit to China with investment high on the agenda. Ishaq Dar invites Chinese group to expand operation under CPEC phase-II

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday invited the Chinese Gezhouba Group to expand its operation in Pakistan under the second phase of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). “Under the Phase-II of CPEC, Pakistan offers generous incentives to Chinese investors which the Gezhouba Group can use to expand its business footprints in Pakistan,” he said while talking to the Chairman of Gezhouba Group in Beijing. CPEC: Pakistan, China to form working group on new economic corridors

Pakistan and China on Friday agreed to establish a Working Group (WG) on five new economic corridors under the second phase of CPEC, aligning with the 5Es framework already prepared by the Planning Ministry. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Federal Minister of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal, and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, which lasted for more than an hour here at the Planning Ministry, a news release said. CPEC helps in further strengthening Pak-China relations: President

President Dr Arif Alvi said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had helped in further expanding and strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries. He expressed these views while talking to Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil-ur-Rahman Hashmi who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr. Pakistan, China hold first joint naval patrol to safeguard CPEC

Chinese and Pakistani naval warships have begun joint maritime patrol in the northern Arabain Sea for the first time in history. The joint drills are part of the two countries’ concrete actions to safeguard the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy’s Type 054A frigate Linyi and the Pakistan Navy’s F-22P frigate Saif formed a task group and launched the joint patrol in waters around major maritime routes and port channels in the northern Arabian Sea for the drills. COAS, Chinese FM discuss CPEC, strategic ties
