Blinken aims to 'cross finish line' on Gaza ceasefire, hostages deal

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Monday that Washington wanted a ceasefire deal in Gaza to be concluded and the hostages released in the next two weeks. A renewed push is under way to reach a ceasefire in the war and return Israeli hostages, before US president-elect Donald Trump takes office on January 20. US, Egyptian officials discuss Gaza ceasefire efforts

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza in a phone call, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement. The release of hostages and increase of flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza were also among the topics discussed, the statement said. Blinken says he discussed Gaza ceasefire agreement with Turkish top officials

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Friday that he discussed the imperative of Palestinian militant group Hamas' saying 'yes' to the Gaza ceasefire agreement in his talks with Turkey's president and foreign minister. "In my discussions with President Erdogan and with Minister Fidan we talked about the imperative of Hamas saying yes to the (Gaza) agreement that's possible to finally help bring this to an end," Mr Blinken said, following his meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara. Blinken discusses Gaza with Lebanon's Prime Minister, Jordan's Foreign Minister

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi in the UK on Friday. Blinken said there was a "sense of real urgency in getting to a diplomatic resolution" in Lebanon so that people could "have the confidence" to return to their homes. Blinken discusses Gaza, Lebanon and Sudan with Saudi Crown Prince

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh on Wednesday as part of a diplomatic push to “end the conflicts” in the Middle East. Blinken heads back to Middle East to push for ceasefire

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to travel to Israel this week with the aim of "bringing the war in Gaza to an end, securing the release of all hostages, and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people", State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said. Blinken to visit Israel to push for ceasefire deal

US President Joe Biden said that he was sending Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Israel to push for a Gaza ceasefire deal after the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. "It's time for this war to end and bring these hostages home. So that's what we're ready to do, and I'm sending Tony Blinken to Israel," Mr Biden said after arriving in Germany. US was 'not involved' in Lebanon pager explosions: Blinken

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Washington was "not involved" in a deadly wave of pagers blasts that killed 12 and wounded nearly 3,000 in Lebanon. "The United States did not and was not involved (in the pagers attack). We are still gathering information," Mr Blinken said in a news conference in Cairo.
