Pakistan, Saudi Arabia deepen agricultural trade ties

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to expand Pakistani agricultural and food exports to the kingdom, targeting up to $3 billion, according to a joint statement issued Sunday. Salaried class pays Rs633bn in tax, more than exporters, retailers and real estate combined

Pakistan's salaried class contributed Rs633 billion in income tax during fiscal year 2025-26, surpassing the combined tax contribution of exporters, the real estate sector and retailers, The News reported, citing provisional data compiled by the Federal Board of Revenue. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has fetched Rs13,010 billion in the last fiscal year ending on June 30, 2026, out of which the salaried class stood out as one of the major contributors, as the tax was deducted at the source and deposited into the national kitty. Billions flow between EU institutions and Israel despite genocidal war in Gaza

Public institutions in European Union countries are signing profitable contracts with Israeli companies despite Israel’s long track record of war crimes in the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank, data collected by Statewatch show. The figures showed Spain, among Europe’s most vocal critics of Israel, agreed to 14 contracts worth almost 227 million euros ($257m) from January 2022 to July 2025. $6bn frozen funds not transferred to Iran yet, says Qatar

A spokesperson of Qatar foreign ministry said on Tuesday said that $6 billion Iranian frozen funds have not been transferred to Iran so far. "They are subject to 2023 agreement and ear-marked for the purchase of humanitarian goods," the spokesperson said in a statement.
