Security operation in Balochistan leaves dozens dead

Pakistan’s military said Sunday that more than 71 militants had been killed during security operations in Balochistan over the past 96 hours. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said forces acted on intelligence reports and targeted hideouts in Shaban and surrounding areas. According to the statement, troops also recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives during the operation. ISPR described those targeted as militants allegedly backed by India and Afghanistan. Farmers Postpone Islamabad March After Balochistan Assurances

The Pakistan Kissan Ittehad has postponed its planned long march and sit-in towards Islamabad after the Balochistan government assured farmers that their concerns would be addressed. A government delegation met Kissan Ittehad President Khalid Baath, who accepted the assurances and agreed to delay the protest. Blast claims lives in Balochistan’s Duki district

QUETTA: Three brothers were killed and a relative injured when a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) struck their pick-up in Duki district on Sunday, police said. SSP Mansoor Ahmed Buzdar said the vehicle was crossing a seasonal stream near Killi Bakhtair Khan in Luni tehsil when the blast occurred. The victims were travelling to their agricultural land when the attack took place. The IED had reportedly been planted by unidentified miscreants. Read More…

Road in Duki named after acid attack survivor Dr Nasir

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Sunday announced that a major road in Duki district would be named after Dr Mahnoor Nasir in recognition of her bravery, resilience and medical services. The 29-year-old doctor was seriously injured in an acid attack at Quetta’s Civil Hospital in June. 40 dead after bus plunges into ravine in Balochistan's Zhob

At least 40 people, including women and children, were killed after a passenger bus plunged into a ravine in Zhob, Balochistan, following a suspected brake failure, officials said. According to police, the accident occurred in the Danasar area of Zhob after the bus reportedly suffered brake failure. Australia sanctions outlawed BLA for terror attacks in Pakistan

The Australian government on Friday imposed counterterrorism financing sanctions on the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its senior leaders "for their engagement in and support of terrorist attacks". Announcing the sanctions, Australia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong said that BLA has conducted "violent terror attacks" across Pakistan, targeting civilians, critical infrastructure, and foreign nationals, as well as the Pakistani state. 5.6-magnitude earthquake jolts parts of Sindh, Balochistan

Several districts of Sindh and Balochistan witnessed earthquake tremors on Thursday, the Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said. Tremors were felt in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Dadu, Naseerabad, and surrounding areas. India carrying out terrorism via proxies after humiliating May defeat: PM Sharif
