Palestinian presidency warns of escalating ‘religious conflict’ over Al-Aqsa Mosque

National Assembly passes bills related to military, National Command Authority

The National Assembly on Thursday passed by majority vote the Defence Forces Act 2026, and the National Command Authority (Amendment) Bill, following their approval by the federal cabinet earlier. The bills were approved by the cabinet during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where the government endorsed draft legislation aimed at implementing legal and administrative changes arising from the 27th Constitutional Amendment. Yemen closes all airports until further notice after Sanaa bombing

Yemen’s civil aviation authority has ordered the closure of all airports to air traffic until further notice. Yemen’s internationally recognised government said its forces carried out a strike on Sanaa airport to prevent an Iranian aircraft from landing there. “The Houthi terrorist militia, supported by the Iranian regime, prevented Yemeni national aircraft from landing at the capital’s airport, Sanaa, and insisted that the Iranian aircraft violate Yemeni airspace. Norway urges US to pressure Israel to release Palestinian tax funds

Norway has called on the US to use its influence to push Israel to release withheld Palestinian tax revenues, warning of deepening economic strain on the Palestinian Authority. Qatar Airways repatriation flights to five European cities announced for March 7

Qatar Airways has announced it will operate a series of special repatriation flights on 7 March, following temporary authorisation from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirming a safe operating corridor. The flights will depart from Hamad international airport in Doha to the following destinations: London Heathrow (LHR), Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Madrid Barajas (MAD), Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and Frankfurt (FRA).
