UAE suspends all trade, financial transactions with Iran after missile attack

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has suspended all trade activities, exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday, citing regional escalation that it said undermined regional and international peace and security. The announcement came after the UAE's defence ministry said on Tuesday that it had detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran, the first such incident reported since a May 4 strike on the Fujairah port. China rejects New Zealand spy agency's 'groundless' espionage claims

China's embassy in Wellington condemned on Friday "groundless" claims by New Zealand's spy agency that Beijing had stepped up espionage activities on its soil. An annual report by New Zealand's Security Intelligence Service warned this week that China was conducting espionage against the country "at scale". Australia imposes new sanctions on Iranian individuals, entities  

Australia announced new financial sanctions and travel bans on several Iranian individuals and entities, accusing them of involvement in human rights violations and activities. Foreign Minister Penny Wong said in a statement that the measures target seven individuals and four entities connected to Iran’s security and financial networks. According to the Australian government, some of those sanctioned were involved in enforcing Iran’s mandatory hijab policies, monitoring activists and political opponents, and detaining foreign nationals. US demanded 20-year halt to Iran uranium enrichment in Islamabad talks: Reports

The US asked Iran to freeze its uranium enrichment activities for 20 years during talks held in Pakistan, Israeli media reported. The reports on Sunday said that during negotiations in Islamabad aimed at securing a lasting ceasefire, Washington offered to end attacks and release part of Iran’s frozen funds. In return, the US was said to have demanded that Tehran halt uranium enrichment for two decades, export its enriched uranium abroad, and allow free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz without imposing any fees. Iranian president says 'country has not come to halt' amid US-Israel strikes

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has said routine activities across the country were continuing despite waves of strikes by the United States and Israel. "We are in direct contact with the governors. The situation is exceptional, but the country has not come to a halt," he wrote it a post on X. "Ongoing activities are continuing across the country. Five senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, incarcerated at Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat, on Friday called for the postponement of all protest activities during Ramadan and urged the party to shift its immediate focus towards parliamentary politics. Germany summons Russia's envoy over surge in alleged election meddling

Germany has summoned Russia's ambassador over what it alleged was a huge increase in threatening hybrid activities by Moscow including disinformation campaigns, espionage, cyberattacks and attempted sabotage, a German foreign ministry spokesperson said.
