UNICEF Warns of Growing Online Risks for Children

About 20 million internet-using children across 21 countries experienced sexual exploitation or abuse online within a year, UNICEF said Thursday. More than one in five surveyed children aged 12 to 17 reported at least one form of abuse. Most incidents occurred on social media, particularly Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok, while online gaming accounted for a smaller share. Israel's far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on Friday forced his way into Ofer Prison, west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, in a visit marked by intimidation and abuse of Palestinian prisoners. More than 50 Gaza aid workers faced abuse in Israeli detention: UN

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, said that more than 50 of its staff in Gaza were abused and used as human shields while in Israeli military detention. Bangladesh's former government was behind systematic attacks and killings of protesters as it tried to hold onto power last year, the UN has said, warning the abuses could amount to "crimes against humanity". Hamas slams Israel for prisoner abuse

Palestinian resistance group Hamas has said that the health condition of freed Palestinian prisoners reflected Israel’s “barbarity and fascism.” The Israeli authorities released 90 Palestinian prisoners, including women and children, on Sunday night from Ofer Prison, west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, under the first phase of a Gaza ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement. “This vividly illustrates the vast difference between the values and ethics of the resistance and the barbarity and fascism of the occupation,” the Hamas statement added. Sudan conflict: UN report accuses RSF of sexual violence, forced captivity
