UAE’s new pipeline bypassing Strait of Hormuz nearly 50% complete, oil chief says

The UAE has completed nearly 50% of a second pipeline that will bypass the Strait of Hormuz, the head of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) said Wednesday, as Gulf producers seek alternative export routes amid the prolonged closure of the key waterway. “Right now, too much of the world’s energy still moves through too few chokepoints,” ADNOC CEO Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber said in an interview at the Atlantic Council. Two injured by falling debris in Abu Dhabi

Two people have been injured after debris fell in two parts of Abu Dhabi following successful air defence interceptions. The first incident resulted in a minor injury to a Jordanian citizen. An Egyptian national suffered moderate injuries in the second incident, Abu Dhabi Medi Office reported. Authorities did not disclose the locations. Residents in Abu Dhabi had received two safety alerts at about 7.15am and 9.55am urging people to take shelter due to missile threats from Iran. Read More…

Further emergency alert issued in Abu Dhabi over missile threat

Abu Dhabi residents have received a second safety alert over missile threats in less than three hours. Authorities urged the public to take immediate shelter in a warning sent to mobile phones at 9.55am. The all-clear came about half an hour later. An earlier alert was issued at 7.15am, which was followed by a series of loud booms that rang out across Abu Dhabi, with the all-clear coming about 25 minutes later. Read More…

Adnoc’s listed companies post combined $9.7bn in net profit

Abu Dhabi’s Adnoc Group's 2025 financial results included record-breaking numbers across its listed portfolio, the energy group reported. Its six listed companies generated revenue of $51.8 billion, according to the post shared by Emirates News Agency (Wam). It reported earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) of $16.7 billion and net profit of $9.7 billion for the full year, while declaring and proposing dividends totalling $7.2 billion, subject to shareholder approval. First round of US-brokered Russia-Ukraine talks ends in UAE

A first round of talks between US, Russian and Ukrainian negotiators in Abu Dhabi has ended, Ukrainian officials said, with new discussions planned for Saturday. "The meeting focused on the parameters for ending Russia's war and the further logic of the negotiation process aimed at advancing toward a dignified and lasting peace," Ukraine's chief negotiator, Rustem Umerov, said on X on Friday evening. US President Donald Trump is touring Abu Dhabi's Abrahamic Family House. He was pictured at Eminence Ahmed El Tayeb Mosque, St Francis Church and Moses Ben Maimon Synagogue.
