The Senate voted overwhelmingly to reinstate Iqbal Day as a national holiday.

Senator Kamil Ali Agha of the ruling Muslim League (Q) introduced a motion in the Senate on Tuesday to reinstate the Iqbal Day holiday on November 9, which was unanimously approved.

Senator Kamil Ali Agha stated in the resolution that Allama Iqbal’s birthday was always a holiday. This holiday was discontinued a while ago.
