The renewed UK funding to UNRWA came at a “critical moment”, said the charity Mercy Corps which provides humanitarian aid to Gaza and the occupied West Bank. Britain’s renewed commitment to the people of Gaza “sets an example for other nations to follow”, Harpinder Collacott, of Mercy Corps Europe, told The National. “Humanitarian organizations are grappling with unprecedented challenges in delivering aid to the countless thousands in Gaza who endure harrowing conditions and lack water, food, and medical supplies,” she added.
