The Punjab administration wants the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate anyone who uses social media to propagate false or unauthorised data about air quality in the province.

Minister Muhammad Rizwan of the Punjab Environment Protection Department (EPD) issued a letter to the FIA Lahore director for this purpose.

He stated that EPD is in charge of enforcing the Punjab Environmental Protection Act of 1997. “It is an Act to provide protection of the environment, conservation, rehabilitation, and improvement, to prevent and control pollution, and to promote sustainable development,” he said in the letter, according to The News.
