Earlier, the Israeli military said it killed a Palestinian fighter and arrested another after an attack that wounded two of its soldiers. The Palestinian Wafa news agency is now identifying the victim as Abdul Halim Rawhi Abdul Halim Hammad, 37. “He was shot by Israeli forces during their incursion into the town,” the agency reported. It said his body “was subsequently withheld by the Israeli army and taken away”.
