Pakistan’s Defence Minister has confirmed the extension of Army Chief General Asim Munir’s tenure until 2028. Initially appointed in November 2022 with a retirement set for 2025, this extension aims to ensure continuity in military leadership. The decision follows recent legislative amendments increasing the service terms of military chiefs from three to five years.
