On Jan 3, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi conceded that there were “some complications” about the fencing of the Pak-Afghan border but added that the matter was being discussed with the Afghan Taliban government. Qureshi blamed “certain miscreants” for fouling up such matters out of proportion. His remarks came in the wake of a video being shared on social media where Taliban fighters were removing a fence from the border.
