With negotiations appearing to be at a deadlock, regional countries could instead seek workarounds to accommodate the competing demands of Washington and Tehran, military and diplomatic analyst Alexandru Hudisteanu says. “After so many months of war, it starts to look like it might be a new status quo, at least for the shorter period of time,” Hudisteanu told Al Jazeera. He said governments in the region and around the world may already be preparing for such a scenario.
