President Vladimir Putin told Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at a meeting that Russia stands in solidarity with the Iranian people in the fight against the US and Israel. Putin also said Russia and Iran will maintain their economic and trade relationship despite the current military and political environment. The US threatened a new sanctions regime against any countries cooperating economically with Iran, including Tehran’s close allies Russia and China.
