On Friday, a powerful bomb exploded inside a Shia Muslim mosque in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Peshawar. According to the police, the blast killed more than 50 worshippers and wounded dozens more, many of them critically. Local police official Waheed Khan reported that the explosion occurred as worshippers had collected in the Kucha Risaldar mosque in Peshawar’s old city for Friday prayers.
