Students in the Canadian city of Montreal erected a Gaza solidarity encampment as pro-Palestine protests continue to spread across campuses. Photos shared online showed tents being set up on the grounds of McGill University as demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and held banners calling for the institution to cut ties with Israel. Speaking to the Montreal Gazette, a protester who declined to give her name, said the protesters, who plan to be there “indefinitely”, had been in talks with the university, but the administration asked them not to put up the tents.
