During the fifth Covid-19 wave, which is being fueled by the Omicron variant, Karachi has seen an alarming increase in coronavirus cases, with the positive rate reaching nearly 40% in the metropolis in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest numbers released by the CM’s House on Sunday, 2,677 people in Sindh tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, with 2,424 of them from Karachi. Two hundred and twenty-nine patients are in critical condition, with another eighteen requiring ventilator support.
