Israel targets southern Lebanon with artillery fire during ‘ceasefire’

The Israeli army is carrying out artillery attacks on the southern Lebanese town of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah near Mayfadoun, the National News Agency (NNA) reports. Last month, the governments of Lebanon and Israel signed a US-brokered framework agreement following months of direct negotiations to stop fighting and for Israel to end its occupation of the south. More than 4,200 people have been killed in Israeli attack with hundreds of thousands forced from their homes since early March.
