Iran vows resilience in face of US sanctions and naval blockade: Analyst

While US sanctions, coupled with its recent naval blockade, have heavily impacted Iran’s economy, they will not diminish Tehran’s resolve during negotiations with Washington, says Abas Aslani, senior research fellow at Tehran’s Center for Middle East Strategic Studies. Aslani told Al Jazeera that while “the economic suffering and hardship for the average citizen has been somewhat significant… the security conditions have been underway… and this has been making this [situation] somehow bearable for the ordinary citizen”. While the economic situation has been heavily impacting the Iranian people’s daily lives, “Iran has been so far able to survive”.
