Iranian government and military officials have reaffirmed their determination to respond to Israel’s suspected assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last month. Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other high ranking figures have vowed revenge for the killing following the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian. “We will determine the time and manner of punishment and the bloodshed for Martyr Haniyeh, and it will definitely be done,” state media quoted Ali Fadavi, a deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as saying.
