Coonoor: It emerged on Thursday that the helicopter carrying India’s defense chief Bipin Rawat came off to be flying unusually low before it ploughed into a hillside in heavy fog. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told parliament that the helicopter had taken off from the nearby Sulur Air Base just before midday on Wednesday. The base lost communication with it just before it was due to land in the cantonment city of Wellington.
