From January 1, the government will increase the per family health insurance coverage under the Sehat Sahulat Program for residents of tribal districts from Rs720,000 to Rs1 million.

According to officials, 1.1 million families from seven newly amalgamated tribal districts would be eligible for free treatment under the federal government’s Sehat Sahulat Program next year (SSP). They said that until now, residents of former Fata were entitled to free health treatments after being verified by the appropriate authorities, who issued them with cards.
