German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, whose national security adviser has just met the Ukrainian delegation in Geneva, says he is not sure the talks will produce the solution sought by Trump in the coming days. Trump has given Ukraine until Thursday, Thanksgiving in the US, to agree to the peace plan but said the current 28-point proposal does not represent a final offer and deadlines could be extended if talks go well.
