The death toll in war-torn Gaza has risen to 40,878, the enclave’s health ministry announced on Thursday afternoon. The update came after 17 Palestinians were killed across Gaza in the previous 24 hours, the ministry said. Fifty-six others were wounded in the same time period, taking the total number of injured to 94,454.
