Rome: On Oct 30, it emerged from a draft statement that the world leaders of the G20 major economies would aim to top global warming at the 1.5°C level. Scientists claim that this amount is crucial to avert catastrophe. “We remain committed to Paris Agreement goal to hold the global average temperature increase below 2°C and to limit it to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels,” the draft says.
