Doha: The opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 began on Sunday with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, for the first time in 92 years. What captured the world and enthralled the spectators was the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by 20-year-old Quran reciter Ghanim Al Muftah, who is also a Fifa World Cup ambassador. Ghanim Al Muftah is a role model for many youths in the Arab world as he has made many achievements despite having the Caudal Regression Syndrome, a rare disorder that impairs the development of the lower spine.
